Couples Counseling with Whitney
Hello, I’m so glad you’re here! I am a passionate couples therapist eager to help you reimagine your relationship and rediscover joy!
Are you feeling alone, disconnected, unheard or unloved in your relationship? Do you feel like you are in a constant state of conflict in your marriage? Are you feeling disappointed in your relationship or struggling with intimacy? Have you tried other couples counselors without success? You are not alone and there's hope to save your relationship.
Making the decision to reach out to a counselor, to admit that your relationship isn't where you want it to be, takes courage and vulnerability. It's a choice based in strength, not weakness.
A strong, healthy relationship doesn't just happen, it's nurtured, cultivated and intentionally supported. Enlisting the support and guidance of a professional couple’s counselor doesn't mean your relationship is broken it means you are dedicated to rebuilding your connection and pursuing the joy of a vibrant future together.
When it comes down to it, dedication to working on your relationship is a better predictor of happiness in your relationship than compatibility and seeking out information to better your marriage or relationship takes gumption!
I'm honored to be part of this journey with you. I'll coach you in learning to use evidence based techniques in your relationship that will help you feel loved, heard and understood. I believe that most of us want to be good partners, we want to have a strong relationship and do our part well, yet we're all flawed and we all have areas that need improvement.
I'll do my best to help you recognize the patterns you've been taught, see how those patterns are playing out in your relationship address them with honesty love and without shame. You're not to blame for the dysfunctional patterns you've learned! We all have them, the important thing is as an adult you now have an opportunity to learn to do it better in your communication and in your relationships.
You don't have to keep repeating the patterns you learned growing up it's my honor and pleasure to help you embrace accountability vulnerability and empathy in your relationship. I enjoy helping couples gain meaningful insight into their long standing patterns, learn the tools they need to handle conflict constructively and build a foundation of friendship to transform their relationship into one of intimacy, honesty and love.
My approach is compassionate, inclusive, trauma and attachment informed, utilizing various modalities to enhance communication, emotional expression and mutual discovery with humor and empathy. I endeavor to create a safe and loving environment for couples to explore, learn about and embrace each other in a new and more effective way.
